Day 1
Arrive into Cambridge Bay on own.Overnight at Arctic Island Lodge.
Day 2
Morning program in Cambridge Bay. Afternoon transfer to float plane base for charter flight to Elu Lodge. Luggage to cabins, tea & bannock upon arrival. Evening hike after dinner. Overnight at Elu.
Day 3 to 6
Complete program at Elu Lodge.
Day 7
Afternoon departure from Elu by charter back to Cambridge Bay. Transfer to hotel for check in. Overnight at Arctic Island Lodge.
Day 8
Depart Cambridge Bay at leisure.
Activities
Cultural Arts Program:
Local artists share their interesting lives and explain the creation and meaning of their unique native art forms.
Elu Boat Expedition:
On a five passenger skiff explore the waters of Elu Inlet. Circumnavigate islands investigating gull rookeries and falcon nests. You will be surrounded by ancient untouched landscapes. On shore excursions hike in search of musk oxen and other wildlife.
Elu Interpretive Hike:
Explored by foot, the land surrounding Elu Lodge holds many treasures. Experience magnificent vistas, breathtaking geological outcroppings, wildlife including musk oxen and potentially barren ground grizzly and visit ancient Thule and Dorset archeological sites. Weather conditions may dictate hikes occurring in the area immediately surrounding the Lodge or in areas better accessible by boat.
