FNA Partners with WWF-Canada on Annual CN Tower Climb

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

With the success of our partnership with WWF-Canada for Earth Hour, we are extremely pleased to be offering a trip for 2 to see the polar bears of Churchill to the winning contestant of the 20th Annual CN Tower Climb for WWF-Canada in Toronto.  The public climb takes place on Saturday, April 17. This is WWF-Canada’s largest fundraising event, with each climber needing to fundraise a minimum of $75 to participate in the event. Every year, thousands of people participate and climb the CN Tower’s 1,776 steps (a total of 144 flights) in approximately 30-40 minutes!  We’re out of breath just thinking about that!

Our company goal next year is to have an FNA team take part in this fantastic event. Don’t worry – we are implementing an exercise training strategy ASAP!

Earth Hour 2010

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

We are very excited to be partnering again with WWF-Canada to promote Earth Hour, an event that takes place on March 27, 2010 at 8:30 pm where hundreds of millions of people around the world will turn off their lights for an hour to demand action on climate change.

This year, Earth Hour has a new contest where people can upload a photo essay or video to tell WWF-Canada what steps they are taking for the planet – big or small. Once uploaded, they are entered to win a trip for two to see polar bears in Churchill, Manitoba with us – Frontiers North!

We continuously blogged about our 2009 Earth Hour contest winner and we are looking forward to supporting the event again by hosting our excited 2010 winners up in Churchill. We are also supporting the cause by turning off our own office lights on Friday, March 26 for an entire day to do our part to raise awareness for Earth Hour.

Here is our video Blog from the North of our 2009 Earth Hour winner’s trip to Churchill and other promotional Earth Hour videos:

Olympic Torch in Churchill

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

This morning the Olympic Torch Relay made its way to Churchill. The whole town was a buzz as many local people from the community took part in the relay. Coca-Cola along with RBC and WWF were on hand to present the torch, along with the Manitoba Premier, Greg Selinger, and former minister of culture, heritage and tourism (now minister of aboriginal and northern affairs) Eric Robinson.

Here are some video clips of the event!

Halloween on the Tundra

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

We had two very special guests join us at our FNA office in Churchill and Tundra Buggy® Launch site this morning to help celebrate Halloween. Buggy Bear and WWF-Canada’s Panda handed out candy to excited guests as they boarded their Tundra Buggies for the day.

Species Experts

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

We are very fortunate to have a great partnerships with organizations like PBI and WWF-Canada that help us host world-renowned polar bear researches and scientists (or as we like to call them, “Species Experts”!) to Churchill every autumn. We have a great line-up that will be out on our Lodge to provide our guests the added-value opportunity to learn first-hand about polar bears in their natural environments and the effects they face from climate change.

Please take a minute and read their bios. They’re pretty awesome and we can’t wait to work with them this year!
