Great Bear Wilderness Exhibit

Last month we blogged about our behind-the-scenes look at Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo’s soon to be open Great Bear Wilderness exhibit. We are happy to learn that the exhibit opened this week to rave reviews. The 7.5 acre exhibit is the largest ever built by the Brookfield Zoo and provides the very best in animal welfare, education, and guest experience.

The polar bear exhibit encompasses floor-to-sky viewing windows where zoo guests can peer right in to a polar bear’s world. Much like the Columbus Zoo exhibit, it has an underwater viewing area to see arctic mammals dive into an 80,000 gallon pool.

FNA at the 2010 Chicago Adventures in Travel Expo

We wrapped up our 2010 consumer travel show season this past weekend in Chicago, where we participated in the Chicago Adventures in Travel Expo. We walked off our plane on Friday to +14 celsius weather! However, when we woke up to attend the show on Saturday morning, we were greeted with snow. We quickly learned that a little unseasonably cool weather does not stop Chicagoans from leaving their residences. We were again very fortunate to have great crowds on both Saturday and Sunday, and had some great conversations with excited travellers. Check out the images below of the show!

2010 Consumer Show Season

In little over a week we will be exhibiting at our very first consumer travel show of 2010. Every year we look forward to visiting some of our favourite cities and markets to chat with consumers and members of the travel trade to better educate them on why we are the best company to travel with to experience amazing wildlife viewing in Canada’s North!

Our first show will be on February 13 & 14 at the LA Times Travel & Adventure Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center. From there we travel to Reno, Nevada and will be a featured exhibitor and guest lecturer at the North American Nature Photography Association’s (NANPA) Nature Photography Summit on February 16 – 18.

After our little stint on the West Coast, we will then hop a plane and head to the East Coast where we will be exhibiting for the first time at the Boston Globe Travel Show on February 19 – 21, and then onto the “Big Apple” to participate in the New York Times Travel Show on February 16 – 28.

Finally, our consumer show season comes to a close in Chicago at the Chicago Tribune Travel & Adventure Show on March 20 & 21.
