A Tale of Two Bears

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

In 2009, long-time WWF volunteer Wanda Hall won the Earth Hour contest and traveled to Churchill with Frontiers North Adventures to see polar bears and other wildlife.

Wanda has travelled far and wide to see animals in the wild, but she said that this trip in particular, getting to see polar bears in their natural environment, made her realize how important it is that we decrease our footprint on the earth.

Wanda also happens to be the gal behind WWF’s panda mascot.  Read all about Wanda’s adventure as the WWF panda mascot meeting Frontiers North polar bear. http://blog.wwf.ca/blog/2010/07/20/why-i-volunteer-wanda-hall/

We’re thrilled to know that Wanda had such a great experience with us in Churchill.

The event was a great success, with a record breaking 6,420 climbers over $1.2 million raised from the Team and the Public Climbs. Here are some images of the event!

FNA Partners with WWF-Canada on Annual CN Tower Climb

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

With the success of our partnership with WWF-Canada for Earth Hour, we are extremely pleased to be offering a trip for 2 to see the polar bears of Churchill to the winning contestant of the 20th Annual CN Tower Climb for WWF-Canada in Toronto.  The public climb takes place on Saturday, April 17. This is WWF-Canada’s largest fundraising event, with each climber needing to fundraise a minimum of $75 to participate in the event. Every year, thousands of people participate and climb the CN Tower’s 1,776 steps (a total of 144 flights) in approximately 30-40 minutes!  We’re out of breath just thinking about that!

Our company goal next year is to have an FNA team take part in this fantastic event. Don’t worry – we are implementing an exercise training strategy ASAP!
