Frontiers North Adventures We hope you can join us!

Did you know that during the summer, Churchill plays host to the world's largest congregation of beluga whales? Do you know how bad the breath of walrus actually is? Did you know that it's a total myth that in the Japanese tradition conceiving under the Aurora Borealis is good luck. We're full of surprises. You'll have to join us to find out more!

Northern Lights, Winter Nights

A faint glow appears on the horizon. Slowly, soft curtains of color shimmer across the northern sky. The colors bend and weave and slowly begin to fade. The night sky darkens again. You have just witnessed a display of awe inspiring Aurora Borealis (the Northern Lights).

Hudson Strait Expedition Cruises

Join us on a rare journey across arctic waters to experience the wildlife and people of the true north. Aboard an expedition class ship, you’ll sail on Hudson Bay as the early explorers did. You’ll meet with local Inuit as we travel to this remote, virtually undiscovered part of the world.

Belugas, Birds and Blooms

Ice break-up in spring brings droves of beluga whales to the Churchill River. The beluga whales enjoy the summer months of July and August in the Churchill River where the river water is warmer than the ocean water and the whales are able to feed on crustaceans.

The Black and White Bear Adventure

The Black and White Bear Adventure is one of our most popular itineraries. This program provides you the opportunity to view and photograph black bears in Manitoba's Riding Mountain National Park as well as polar bears near Churchill.

British Columbia Grizzly Bears

In stark contrast to the white polar bears of northern Manitoba, you can also view grizzly bears on the central coast of British Columbia. From May through to October our excursions from Port Hardy will take you to a floating lodge in the midst of the Great Bear Rainforest. Observe grizzly bears and other wildlife such as black bear, otters, mink, deer, bald eagles, Orcas, gray and humpback whales.

Bowhead Whales & Walrus of Foxe Basin

The Foxe Basin area is rich in wildlife, including whales, walrus and seal. During this program, we follow the old tradition of tent camping near the water's edge in hopes of spotting a magnificent bowhead or walrus.

Churchill Town and Tundra Experience

On your polar bear tour, staying at a Churchill-based hotel is a great way to ensure a well-rounded trip. Yes, polar bears from a Tundra Buggy, but also time off the tundra to experience the small quirks that make Churchill, as a town, so darned unique.
